ANTONY GASNIER
Antony Gasnier is an architect and designer. Originally from the Jura region, where he grew up in the foothills of the mountains, he later spent more than a decade in Canada before settling in Switzerland. This journey has shaped a practice combining architecture, furniture, and material exploration. His work is grounded in the study of contrasts, proportions, and the relationship an object establishes with its surroundings. He develops a minimalist and sculptural language, paying particular attention to lines, volumes, and the way light transforms the perception of materials. Solid wood, stone, glass, metal, and textiles are selected for their inherent qualities and the possibilities they bring to each project.
Antony Gasnier designs furniture, lighting, and objects. Some pieces directly reference natural elements, from the irregular lines of a branch to the texture of tree bark, while others rely on more architectural constructions. Glass can be worked to diffuse light irregularly, wood to reveal its curves and grain, and metal to provide structure and precision. This diversity extends from furniture to sculptural lighting and decorative objects. Despite the variety of typologies and materials, his work maintains a consistent approach: giving each element a clear function while developing a distinctive character, with constant attention to detail, finishes, and the quality of craftsmanship.
