BERTO
Berto is a designer whose practice has been shaped through direct engagement with materials and artisanal craftsmanship. After more than a decade working at the intersection of industrial design and small-scale object production, he developed a personal approach rooted in geometry, making, and emotion. His work takes form through unique pieces and limited editions conceived to endure, far from the logic of fast production. For him, collectible design is a search for permanence, a way to preserve the value of gesture, production time, and the relationship between an object and the person who lives with it. Each creation retains the traces of its making and embraces a sincere presence, crafted by hand with the support of skilled artisans.
His work is notably expressed through Facetas, a collection born from an immersion in the 19th-century Tiffany technique, based on the manual assembly of glass using copper and tin. From this craft tradition, Berto develops a geometric language built on repeated and transformed modules, giving rise to volumes that respond to light and alter the perception of space. His creations occupy a singular territory, functioning both as useful objects and sculptural presences. Geometry becomes a tool capable of generating rhythm, depth, and emotion, while the material preserves the visible traces of its fabrication. His work reflects a vision of design attentive to construction, longevity, and the ability of objects to enter into dialogue with their surroundings.
