CASPAL
Caspal is an Italian design house founded in 2025 by Biagio Castellani and Federica Paoli. The studio creates collectible furniture, lighting, and design objects rooted in Italy's rich artisanal heritage. Metal serves as the common thread throughout its collections, shaped through turning, polishing, plating, and meticulous hand assembly. Caspal also places particular emphasis on hand woven willow, reinterpreted through innovative metal plated finishes that reveal an unexpected character. This combination of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary techniques gives each piece a distinctive identity, defined by precision, materiality, and a refined aesthetic.
Based between Milan and Valdera in Tuscany, Caspal develops its collections within two regions renowned for their design culture and artisanal excellence. The studio favors limited edition production, durable materials, and manufacturing processes that preserve the long term value of each object. Its signature technique of hand woven willow finished with a metallic plating perfectly embodies this philosophy. The weaving retains the softness and subtle irregularities of traditional craftsmanship, while the finish transforms the surface into something strikingly contemporary and architectural. Rather than concealing the origin of its materials, Caspal reveals them through a new perspective. The studio's creations are intended for collectors, architects, and contemporary design enthusiasts who value rarity, craftsmanship, and the enduring excellence of Italian design.
