IDAAF
Founded in Tbilisi in 2016 by architect Nana Zaalishvili, Idaaf Architects develops a practice positioned between architecture, interior design, and collectible furniture. The studio explores the relationship between constructed form, cultural memory, and material, drawing from Georgia’s vernacular architectural heritage. Inspired by rural structures, landscapes, and traditional craft techniques, its projects reinterpret historical typologies through a contemporary language defined by strong lines and a distinctly sculptural presence.
Alongside architectural commissions, Idaaf develops a body of objects and furniture pieces that extend this research at a more intimate scale. Each project emerges from a careful process of research, drawing, and making, carried out in close collaboration with local artisans. The studio’s work seeks to reveal the quiet beauty of materials and to situate objects within a cultural continuity where tradition and contemporaneity converge. Between architecture, design, and material culture, Idaaf gradually constructs a language in which every piece becomes a fragment of history reinterpreted through a new form.
