LAMISS AKAR

LAMISS AKAR

Lamiss Akar is a Lebanese designer whose work moves between collectible furniture, sculpture, and functional objects. Trained in interior design in Beirut before continuing her career in Dubai, she has gradually built a personal universe shaped by landscapes, memories, and Lebanon’s cultural heritage. Her practice draws equally from forms observed during childhood and from a contemporary investigation of material and making. Through her creations, she seeks to produce objects capable of evoking an immediate emotional response while maintaining a strong presence within a space.

Her practice is driven by a spirit of experimentation. Drawing, sculpture, painting, and material exploration all contribute to the same creative process, guided as much by intuition as by formal research.

Lamiss Akar’s creations are distinguished by organic silhouettes, fluid curves, and a close connection to the natural world. Inspired by landscapes, vegetal forms, and living structures, she develops pieces that appear shaped by continuous movement rather than rigid geometry. After working with ceramics, she turned to fiberglass to explore larger scales and new manufacturing possibilities. Each piece results from a lengthy process involving drawing, shaping, and hand-finished details. Her work expresses a sensitive and instinctive vision of design, making each object an extension of imagination, memory, and material.
