NAZARA LÁZARO
Through objects and interiors, Nazara Lazaro seeks to transform space into sculpture. Guided by intuition and experimentation, her practice explores form, materiality, and atmosphere as interconnected elements. Born and raised in Tenerife and now based between Barcelona and Berlin, Lazaro has spent much of her life navigating foreign territories, gradually developing a personal design language shaped by movement, observation, and cultural exchange.
After studying Interior Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, she traveled to Japan, where she lived for nearly two years. There, she gained hands-on experience in traditional woodwork, architecture, and exhibition design, immersing herself in processes rooted in precision, restraint, and ritual. This period marked a turning point in her approach, grounding her work in craft while opening it to spatial and symbolic dimensions.
Her exposure to diverse cultures is woven into her objects, interiors, sets, and ephemeral installations. References to Japanese craftsmanship coexist with the volcanic landscapes and light of the Canary Islands, the experimental energy of Berlin, and a distinctly personal sense of femininity. Nazaro’s work often balances physical presence with emotional and atmospheric depth, allowing spaces to feel both grounded and fluid.
Bridging the tangible and the intangible, she incorporates 3D design as a research tool to visualize ideas and test relationships between form and material. This approach led her to establish HENADS in 2023, a creative practice dedicated to immersive virtual environments conceived with a human-made sensitivity. Across physical and digital realms, Lázaro continues to explore how design can shape experience, quietly, intuitively, and with sculptural intent.
