SIX DOTS DESIGN
Six Dots Design is a British design studio founded in 2020 by Joseph Ellwood, a designer trained in architecture at the University of Bath and later at the Royal College of Art. Born from a personal exploration of design and making, the studio champions a free, expressive, and deeply human approach to furniture and objects. Its work embraces visible imperfections, generous forms, and raw materials as a way of challenging established conventions within interior design. Through its collections, Six Dots Design creates pieces that encourage self-expression and bring a more honest presence into everyday spaces.
Since then, Six Dots Design has developed a series of acclaimed collections and collaborations, including projects with Rimowa, H&M, IKEA, Maison Margiela, and CUPRA. In 2024, the studio presented Handcraft Spacecraft at Collectible Brussels, where the table received the Collector’s Pick distinction. The same year, it unveiled Not in Service, a furniture collection introduced through a fashion show-inspired performance. Its work has been featured in Sight Unseen, House & Garden, The World of Interiors, and The Sunday Times, while also receiving recognition from Wallpaper Magazine. Through its collections, Six Dots Design continues to promote a vision of furniture shaped by spontaneity, imperfection, expressive forms, and creative freedom.
