STUDIO ROMELL

Studio Romell is the collaborative practice of Carlos and David Romell, based in Stockholm. Their work brings together furniture, lighting and objects, developed through an interest in art, architecture and the ways materials shape an interior. Carlos comes from a fine arts background, while David contributes experience in real estate and the development of spaces. Together, they give each project a clear outline and a carefully considered relationship of scale and proportion. The collection includes seating, tables, mirrors and lighting, alongside smaller objects that carry the same attention to shape, surface and construction.

Materials provide the starting point for these explorations. Marble, travertine and onyx are shaped to reveal their veining, while bronze, silver, wood and glass introduce different qualities of colour, texture and reflection. Broad curves, deep recesses and finely drawn edges give familiar objects distinct profiles. Finishes are chosen to bring out the character of the material, from polished metal to honed stone and waxed wood.

The pieces are produced in Europe through collaborations with specialist artisans in France, Italy, Portugal and Sweden. The catalogue names workshops involved in stone carving, bronze casting, glass and furniture making, connecting each design to the skills required for its realisation. Editions are limited, with each piece signed, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Custom dimensions or finishes are offered for documented designs. Across the collection, Studio Romell develops a consistent approach to substantial materials and precise forms, creating lasting objects intended to be used and appreciated over many years.
