STUDIO ROMELL

STUDIO ROMELL

Carlos and David, both originally from Sweden and now based in Stockholm, have long shared a deep affinity for art in all its forms.

Their meeting led to the creation of Studio Romell, a collaborative project driven by a clear ambition: to create singular objects at the intersection of art, architecture, and furniture. Their practice is rooted in a genuine curiosity for spaces, uses, and human presence, while remaining uncompromising in its artistic vision.

Together, they develop a rigorous formal language in which each piece is conceived as a strong presence, one that structures a space as much as it inhabits it.

Coming from a fine arts background, Carlos approaches form in an instinctive, plastic, and sculptural way. David, co-designer, brings over ten years of experience in real estate, commerce, and human-centered architecture, fostering a precise dialogue between artistic sensitivity and structural rigor.

Within Studio Romell, their work focuses exclusively on the creation of high-end furniture, guided by a raw and minimalist aesthetic. Superfluous elements are deliberately stripped away in favor of tense forms, assertive volumes, and carefully controlled balances. Each piece exists at the threshold between sculpture and interior architecture, conceived as a structural element within space. Materials lie at the core of their language: marble, travertine, onyx, bronze, solid wood, silver, and Murano glass. Selected for their physical and symbolic presence, they dictate form as much as they accompany it. All pieces are produced entirely in Europe in very limited editions, in collaboration with artisans based notably in France, Italy, Sweden, and Portugal. Studio Romell’s universe evokes artifacts from an undefined world, neither past nor future, leaving a sense of mystery around their origin, function, and temporality.
