Léontine Furcy is a self-taught French sculptor. After studying law and communication, and working in styling, set design and audiovisual scenography, she turned to sculpture, shaped by a decisive encounter with stoneware. Inspired by her graphic-designer mother’s hand-made practice, she searches for gestures and forms rising from sensibility, then builds them with extreme care on chamotted clay slabs to preserve their original lightness and movement. Numbered and named, her pieces form an ensemble, emerging from pre-verbal memory.
